The program is designed for foreigners who has already worked in China and foreign students who hope to do business with Chinese in the future. The applicants shall pass New HSK Level 4 or have equivalent Chinese level.

Business Chinese, as Chinese for Specific Purpose, is a program aimed at developing language skills and communication arts for doing business in China. The program will help

students expand business-related vocabulary, learn business-related sentences and develop communication arts under various business situations. In addition, the program will help students improve language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) vital for business activities and learn Chinese business culture.

Note: Shanghai Jiao Tong University doesn’t offer accommodation for non-degree and Chinese language students, but non-degree and Chinese language students can apply offcampus accommodation.

Those who live in Minghang Campus for 2 semesters, accommodation fee during summer or winter vacation will be free.

About the University Summary

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), as one of the higher education institutions which enjoy a long history and a world-renowned reputation in China, is a key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the People's Republic of China and co-constructed by MOE and Shanghai Municipal Government. Through some 120 years' unremitting efforts, SJTU has become a comprehensive, research-oriented, and internationalized top university in China.

Today SJTU has 67 undergraduate programs covering 9 major disciplines: economics, law, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and arts. Since 2000, there are 49 national higher education teaching achievement prizes （36 completed independently）.
